Early 2017

2017 started out rough around here. And then it started going bad. And then it got worse.

Our first "trip" of the year was a necessary trip in April to Nebraska to figure out what to do with a house we owned out there. It had been occupied by some of the sorriest, trashiest, pieces of...ahem.
Anyhow, I was sent a condemnation notice - clean it up or it will be torn down.

I attempted calling some contractor people to try to get some idea of what I needed to do, but, I don't know. They acted...dumb or something.

So one Friday night, me and Ryan decided to get up the next morning and drive to Nebraska.

It took us two days. He said we could drive it all the way, but 8 hours was long enough to drive/ride, so we stopped for the night at an AirBnB in Columbia, Missouri.

We tried, a little bit, to make the best of it, to make a Road Trip out of it. It was stressful, though.

Nebraska should be sued for false advertising.

It was better once we had dealt with things and headed back home.

We overnighted at an AirBnB in St. Louis, staying in a refurbished ("gentrified") old Brownstone house that was awesome.

We stopped in for a Gooey Louie Butter Cake, and a Ted Drewes' Concrete treat, and went to one of the areas I can't recall the name of at the moment for Ryan to shop at the Wizard's Wagon game store, and then and stopped to take a gander at The Arch again.

We just took a selfie in front of it, but didn't go in. We've already been inside before, and we were tired.

Don't we look tired?
Our/my next two outings were in May, to watch Braves baseball games at the new Marietta Atlanta Braves stadium.

First, John & Ryan's employer had an employee appreciation day, with lunch and free tix.

A couple of days after that, my Aunt had gotten free tix from someone she knows and said, Let's go! So we did!
