New Year's Day we had good, traditional New Year's day dinner of collard greens and black eyed peas w/ pork, and some grilled chicken. It was all very delish.
We left my sister's in the evening to head back to Hudson to spend the night, and be able to get up the next morning and go do the Tourist Thing.
What we had planned was to visit a DeSoto Memorial Park, The Pier at St. Pete, go on a tour at the Yeungling Brewery, and shop some Thrift Stores.
But I had forgot the Travel List at home, and when I was trying to look stuff up later, I forgot all about the Yeungling Brewery tour.
We were using the GPS to find the DeSoto Memorial, without thinking about having Toll Roads blocked from it, so we went miles and miles out of the way, all the way around Tampa, to get back back about 30 miles from where we started. That was a PITA.
But, we made it, and the Park was ok. I really had no idea DeSoto was such a creep and a loser.
Kevin got to try on real Chain Mail and Armor, so that was cool:
The little beach at the park was as close as I got to going to a beach, on account of it being too cold to enjoy a real one:
Next we visited The Pier at St. Pete. Restaurants and shopping. We went to the top but it was too cold to hang out outside long.
We shopped a couple of Thrift Stores on the way back, but it had gotten late and they were closing up. Didn't find any Treasures.
We spent one more night at Hudson, then got up the next morning and came home.
